Thomas Tremblay builds and maintains Bumpit as an independent project. That covers the audit engine, the curated datasets, and the field guides published on the blog.
Bumpit is not a team or an agency. One person makes the calls about what gets checked, how findings are worded, and what evidence a claim needs before it is published.
What that work involves
The audit engine runs deterministic checks against a page's real HTML, robots rules, and sitemap — no AI inference about authorship, originality, backlinks, or rankings. Every finding is labelled as measured, official, heuristic, or unknown, and every check returns evidence alongside its recommendation.
The field guides follow the same standard. Each answers one question, cites primary documentation with the date it was checked, and states what the sources do not establish.
Corrections
Search behaviour changes and program terms move. If something on Bumpit is out of date or wrong, corrections are welcome and get fixed at the source rather than quietly edited around.
